Fleet Manager (Heavy Vehicle Driver – Class 4 / 5)

Key Responsibilities

The role includes, but is not limited to, the following duties:

Driving Class 4 and Class 5 trucks as part of daily operations, including deliveries, fleet movements, and covering driver shortages

Moving trucks and equipment between regions in New Zealand as required by operational demand

Coordinating daily fleet activities, including vehicle allocation and route planning

Monitoring vehicle condition and arranging servicing, repairs, COF, and maintenance schedules

Ensuring compliance with NZ Transport Agency regulations, health & safety standards, and company policies

Monitoring driver work hours, logbooks, and fatigue management requirements

Maintaining accurate vehicle, compliance, and operational records

Providing operational guidance to drivers when required

Reporting fleet performance, issues, and requirements to management

Driving heavy vehicles is an essential and ongoing requirement of this role.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

Hold a valid New Zealand Class 4 or Class 5 Driver Licence (Class 5 preferred)

Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience driving heavy vehicles, including experience within New Zealand

Demonstrated knowledge of NZ road rules, transport regulations, and safety requirements

Ability and willingness to travel and work across multiple regions in New Zealand

Ability to work independently and take responsibility for fleet operations

Basic reporting and record-keeping skills
