As part of the Regional Cancer Treatment Service (RCTS), we deliver non-surgical cancer care to a population of 580,000 across MidCentral, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Whanganui, and Wairarapa.Are you passionate about patient care and looking to make a meaningful impact in the field of cancer treatment?
We are seeking a dedicated Radiation Therapy Assistant to support our radiation therapy team in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients undergoing treatment. About the RoleAs a Radiation Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the radiation therapy department.
Working closely with Radiation Therapists, you will assist in patient preparation, equipment setup, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth and efficient treatment delivery.You'll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team that values innovation, education, and continuous improvement.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist patients before and after treatment sessions, ensuring comfort and safety.Support therapists with treatment room setup and equipment preparation.Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of treatment areas and immobilisation devices.Manage patient flow and appointment scheduling.Maintain accurate records and assist with data entry.Provide empathetic and respectful communication with patients and families.Provide assistance to the RCTS and Taranaki Cancer Centre administration team as required.
