Carpenter - Opotiki

Pay Rate: $30 – $35 per hour (depending on qualifications, skills, and experience)

We’re passionate about delivering quality craftsmanship and exceptional service to our clients. As our workload expands, we're looking for a motivated Carpenter to join our growing team.

What We’re Looking For:

We are seeking someone who is professional, reliable, and takes pride in their work.

You must have:

• At least 2 years of relevant experience OR
• A relevant Level 4 qualification (this may substitute the work experience requirement)
• A valid driver’s licence and reliable transport to travel to various job sites
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong problem-solving skills and the abilityt to think on your feet
• Good physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labour tasks.
• High standards of workmanship and attention to detail
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Willingness to undergo a Ministry of Justice background check and drug test if required
• Flexibility to work early mornings and occasional weekends as project timelines require

Key Responsibilities:

• Measure, cut, and assemble timber and other materials with precision
• Construct, install, and repair framing, flooring, roofing, and cabinetry
• Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and technical specifications
• Install windows, doors, stairs, trims, and other fixtures
• Carry out concrete formwork, foundation work, and basic site prep
• Assist with demolition and site clearance when required
• Operate and maintain power tools and carpentry equipment safely
• Collaborate with builders, subcontractors, and site supervisors to ensure smooth project execution
• Follow health and safety regulations and maintain a tidy worksite
• Ensure all work meets relevant codes, standards, and company quality expectations
• Adapt to different residential projects including new builds, renovations, extensions, and repairs
