Working under the direction and delegation of Nursing and Midwifery, this role contributes to supporting safe care for patients and whanau by assisting with delegated activities and supporting the maintenance of a safe, pleasant, functional environment as part of the healthcare delivery team.Tasks included:Assistance with meals and drinks serviceAnswering patient call bells and reporting to the supervising Nurse any patient requirements that fall outside of support functionsHygiene, toileting, dressing, eating/drinking and mobilisation assistance as directedChecking, ordering and restocking of suppliesMaintenance and cleaning of sluice room and treatment areasAssistance with bed making, assembling patient bed spaces for admission and dischargeCleaning and maintenance of equipmentPerforming reception and greeting functions in a professional mannerUse communication skills (verbal and non verbal) to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients and the health care teamThis role is based in our Outpatients Department at Kaitaia Hospital.
