Job Description:
Yummy king takeaway in Waitara a is looking for some full-time Chinese Cooks to join us, mainly responsible for cooking Chinese food on our menu. This is a full time position, you will work 30-40 hours per week on the roster (minimum 30 hours guarantee), immediate start, with hourly rate $28.00-$30.00, depends on your skills, qualification and work experience.We open 7 days a week, please note that you may need to work on nights, weekends and public holidays.
Your duties will include:
- examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
- regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
- preparing and cooking food
- seasoning food during cooking
- portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
- storing food in temperature controlled facilities
- preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
- may plan menus and estimate food requirements
- may train other kitchen staff and apprentices
- any other duties that may be assigned by the owner
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of work experience in cooking Chinese food in commercial kitchen, or a relevant qualification at NZQF level 2 or higher
- Available to work on weekends and public holidays when required
- Clean police certificate
- Drug free
