About the Role We are looking for skilled and compassionate inpatient mental health nurses to join our team and deliver safe, effective, and contemporary care to patients and their families/whānau. Our approach is based on thorough assessment, continuity of care, and a commitment to patient-centred, culturally responsive, evidence-informed practice.
Successful applicants will bring at least three years experience in mental health nursing, including a minimum of one year in an inpatient mental health environment. About the Team/Service/ Location Te Whetu Tawera (TWT) is Te Toka Tumai Aucklands modern, purpose-built 58-bed adult inpatient mental health unit, located in the heart of Auckland.
Set within the grounds of Auckland City Hospital, our stand-alone facility offers a safe, therapeutic environment with excellent access to public transport, and is just moments from the Auckland Domain, shopping precincts, caf s, and entertainment making it an easy and convenient place to work.
We provide a comprehensive hospital-based continuum of care for adults aged 1865 experiencing complex mental health needs. Our service includes a 12-bed Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit and two 23-bed open wards, delivering specialised, recovery-focused support at every stage.
Working closely with community mental health teams, we take a collaborative, person-centred approach that empowers Tangata Whai ora and enables our staff to make a meaningful, lasting difference every day.
