About the Role
Right now, we - re looking for experienced Health Care Assistants to join the Nursing Resource Team on a casual basis. This role provides care and support to patients under the direction and supervision of a nursing staff and in additional to other housekeeping tasks when necessary.
The role works across all departments at Timaru Hospital, and within the community, such as District Nursing, Early Supported Discharge plus Hospital Avoidance.
About You
We will consider those with experience and have or working towards minimum level 3 careers workforce training. Those working towards a qualification such as nursing or radiology will also be considered. Other attributes required for this role include those who are able to;- Assist people who have major health care needs
- Utilise well developed communication skills to enhance patient experiences while they are under our care
- Actively support the wider team to achieve goals, while seeking assistance when necessary
- Take initiative, (i.e. sees something requiring attention and simply does it)
- Displaying genuine sensitivity (and culturally empathy) toward others
- Maintaining unfailing confidentiality in all respects
- Presenting a friendly positive approach to colleagues, patients visitors alike
- Delivering safe quality care and client centred services
- The right to work in New Zealand
