The role
Join us at Alpine Energy as a Line Mechanic and help power South Canterbury. We have an opportunity for a skilled professional to maintain, construct, and repair overhead electricity lines and equipment. You’ll install poles, transformers, and switches, perform fault response, and ensure compliance.This is a permanent role based in Timaru, offering opportunities to grow your skills and make a real impact.
As a Line Mechanic in our team, you will:- Maintain and construct overhead electricity lines and pole-mounted equipment
- Take the lead on network upgrades and help shape smarter ways to deliver power
- Operate equipment and perform network switching when authorised
- Registration as Electrician, Line Mechanic, or Cable Jointer with current licence
- Experience in the electrical supply industry (Usually 5+ years)
- Strong focus on safety and teamwork
- NZ Certificate in Electricity Supply Level 4 (Fault Response)
- NZ Certificate in Electricity Supply Level 3 (Field Switching)
- Project management experience and PHC competency
