ECE Caregiver (BestStart Bremner Rd)
About the Role:
At BestStart Bremner Rd, we're looking for a dedicated and experienced Caregiver to join our warm and welcoming team. You will be an important part of the teaching team and contribute fully to the life of our centre.
This is not just a support role – we're seeking someone who can step in and take on the full responsibilities of a permanent team member. That means engaging in planning and assessment, writing learning stories, contributing to centre priorities, and attending team meetings.You'll be working closely with our Centre Manager and kaiako, supporting tamariki to thrive in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
This is a fixed-term position covering 20 hours per week, from 15/9/25 to 13/3/26, Monday - Thursday.
As a caregiver at BestStart, you'll have the chance to:
- Provide warm, responsive care and education to tamariki.
- Plan, assess, and document learning stories that reflect each child's unique journey.
- Contribute to centre priorities and support team goals.
- Attend and engage in meetings and professional discussions.
- Be a positive and active contributor to our close-knit teaching team.
Role Requirements:
- Previous experience working in an ECE centre is essential.
- Confidence in planning, assessment, and writing learning stories.
- A genuine passion for early childhood education and child development.
- A team-focused attitude, with flexibility, resilience, and initiative.
- An ECE qualification is not required, but experience with children under five is a must.
