About the Role
We are seeking a Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our Haemodialysis unit at Whakatane Hospital.
As an integral member of the team, you will assist patients and clinical staff throughout their surgical journey, from preparation to recovery. Your compassionate and reliable nature will contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient theatre environment, ensuring the best outcomes for patients and their whanau.
This is a permanent position up to 0.4 FTE (16 hours per week) and we encourage you to indicate in your cover letter how many hours you want to be considered for.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our Haemodialysis Team is a group of skilled and supportive professionals dedicated to delivering excellent support and care for our patients requiring haemodialysis.
Health Care Assistants are a vital part of our team who work closely with our nursing staff to provide assistance to patients and whanau/family.
Situated in the beautiful Bay of Plenty, this region is known for its stunning beaches, warm climate, and welcoming community, offering an unmatched work-life balance.

About you
The preferred candidate would be dedicated and empathetic individual with a passion for healthcare. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are committed to supporting both patients and colleagues.- Experience as a Health Care Assistant in a Healthcare setting.
- A Health Care Assistant Certificate Level 4 (preferred) or Level 3.
- Patient-centred approach with excellent teamwork and communication skills.
