About the Role
We are looking for an experienced NZ Registered Physiotherapist to join our team as our Practice Supervisor for Taiao Ora, Ward 51. This role is based at Auckland City Hospital and is a permanent, full-time role. Taiao ora encompasses our Hyper-acute and acute stroke service, acute neurology service, all age stroke rehabilitation and under 65 rehabilitation services.This key role reports directly to the Physiotherapy Clinical Lead and is an ideal opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist wanting to develop their leadership capabilities.
Key aspects of the Practice supervisor role:
Clinical leadership of a team of Physiotherapists.Providing day to day coordination of the physiotherapy team on Taiao Ora
Carry a clinical caseload and support complex caseload management across the service
Leading evidence-based practice and service development
Motivating, guiding and developing staff
Collaboration with wider Physiotherapy, Allied Health and multidisciplinary teams in both a clinical and leadership capacity
About the Team
Our Taiao ora Physiotherapy team is made up of a Practice Supervisor, 2 Senior Physiotherapists and 6 core physiotherapists. They work closely with the Allied Health Consultant and Allied Health colleagues including Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Social Workers, Dieticians and Psychologists.
Our wider Physiotherapy team consists of 91.2FTE, working across both inpatient and outpatient settings.

About you
As the ideal person for this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:
NZ registration as a Physiotherapist with current Annual Practicing CertificateSignificant experience working with acute stroke, neurology and rehabilitation with a minimum of 7 years clinical experience
Experience working in a complex environment and within multi-disciplinary or inter-disciplinary teams
Leadership and management experience with proven supervision, mentoring, coaching and leadership skills
Experience providing adult teaching and knowledge of appropriate educating skills
Organisational, time management and clinical priority-setting skills
A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Maori
Knowledge of quality improvement principles and processes
