Quantity Surveyor

ConsultANZ is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for upcoming works for a well-established civil contractor in Auckland.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of cost estimation, forecasting, and financial control across civil infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and review tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other documentation.
• Evaluate subcontractor quotations and negotiate contracts to ensure value for money.
• Monitor project progress and provide accurate cost reporting, including identifying and managing variations and claims.
• Liaise with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure financial transparency and alignment with contractual obligations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and contract terms.
• Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors and contribute to continuous improvement in commercial practices.

Requirements

The successful candidate will bring to the role:

• Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or in a related field.
• 5-7+ years' experience in a contractor background with successfully estimating and winning large-scale projects.
• Practised in quantification & familiar with standard methods of measurement and standard form of contract.
• Familiar with first-principle pricing and takeoffs
• A practical-minded hands-on approach coupled with excellent communication and people skills.
• Providing accurate commercial advice to Construction Managers, Project Managers, and the Senior Management team.
• Excellent communication skills. You must be able to professionally and assertively convey communication to all involved.

• Salary package of $130-150k, negotiable based on experience.
