Rentokil Initial is a global leader in environmental services, dedicated to creating healthier and safer environments for our clients. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Indoor Plants Technician to join our Wellington team on a part-time basis, working 20 hours per week over 3 days.
As an Indoor Plants Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining vibrant, fresh, and aesthetically pleasing indoor plant installations within commercial and residential client spaces. This involves routine plant care, including watering, pruning, fertilising, and monitoring plant health.A key part of the role is working closely with clients to ensure their plantscape needs are met, which includes identifying and resolving any potential plant issues. You will also manage the installation and replacement of plants and assist in keeping the plant areas generally clean and tidy.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance of indoor plants, including watering, pruning, fertilizing, and pest control.
- Monitor plant health and identify any signs of disease or pest infestation, taking appropriate action as needed.
- Install and replace plants as required to maintain optimal plantscape appearance.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients and addressing any concerns.
- Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of all plantscape areas during and after service visits.
- Report any equipment issues or supply needs promptly to management.
Requirements:
- Eligible to work in New Zealand.
- Full Class 1 NZ driver’s licence with a clean record
- New Zealand driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Clean criminal record.
- Previous experience in plantscape maintenance or a related horticultural role preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact professionally with clients.
- Physically able to perform manual tasks such as lifting and carrying plants and equipment.
- Reliable with good time management skills and the ability to work independently in a part-time schedule.
