Job Description:We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Builder to join our dynamic team at HGM. In this hands-on role, you will lead timber & concrete construction projects including bridges, staircases, retaining walls, formwork, concrete placement and finishing and a variety of other interesting projects.
You will be responsible for managing a team on-site to ensure projects are completed to the highest standards.
This is a diverse and engaging role that goes beyond timber & concrete construction. You will also assist with general siteworks as required, contributing to the overall success of each project. Maintaining the high-quality workmanship that HGM is known for is essential, and your craftsmanship will play a key role in upholding the reputation HGM has built over decades.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and execute timber & concrete construction projects from start to finish.
- Coordinate a team of workers on-site.
- Ensure all work meets HGM’s standards for quality and safety.
- Assist with other site tasks and general construction duties as required.
- Maintain clear communication with team members and project managers.
- Proven experience in timber & concrete construction.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to adapt to a variety of tasks and project types.
- A proactive and hands-on approach to work.
- Level 4 Certificate in Carpentry is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of timber & concrete construction techniques and tools.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's NZ license.
