Duty Manager - Wellington
Do you love beer? Like, really love it? Then you might be just the person we’re after!
Garage Project is not your average brewery. We’re a Wellington-born gang of beer lovers making waves across NZ and Australia with our wild and wonderful brews. We’ve gone from a small garage (yep, literally) to a team of 75+ passionate people, and now we’re looking for a Duty Manager to join our Wellington crew.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our GP 91 Aro Taproom, Cellar Door, and Wild Workshop teams as a Duty Manager. Our ideal candidates are passionate about craft beer and have a strong understanding of the industry.Reporting to the Venues Operations Manager.
What You’ll Be Doing:The role of Duty Manager is varied and will be around 35 hours a week. Much of your week will be at our Tap Room, with some of your time spent at our Wild Workshop Taproom & Cellar Door and Aro Cellar Door as and when needed. Day to day, you’ll be responsible for:
- Run the Show (responsibly): When you’re on shift, you’re the boss. Make sure the venue’s running smoothly, and you and the crew are hosting responsibly,
- Beer Magic: It’s not just about pouring beers – it’s about telling the story and creating an experience. You'll serve up brews in unique, memorable ways, bringing the beers to life.
- Customer Whisperer: Be the friendly face that keeps customers coming back. Build relationships with regulars, offer tastings, and make sure everyone has a killer time.
- Beer Knowledge Ninja: Stay on top of our brews, tasting notes, and special releases. Keep your knowledge sharp so you can dazzle the punters.
- Pitch In: Help prep food, clean up when needed, and always be ready to lend a hand. Teamwork makes the dream work.
- Stock Star: Keep your eyes on the prize (and the fridge). Monitor stock levels, top things up and make sure the space is always clean, tidy, and vibing.
- Tour Guide Extraordinaire: Run tours behind the scenes in our Wild Workshop, showcasing an in-depth knowledge of our brewing processes and being confident in speaking to the final products
- Menu Master (Lite Edition): Know our menus inside-out and serve it up with style. Minimal cooking skills needed, but attention to detail? Essential.
- Social Sidekick: Snap, post, and hype! Lend a hand with our venue’s socials – capturing the good times and spreading the word.
It’s not just about pouring beers – it’s about telling the story and creating an experience.
