Project Manager

The Company

We are working with a general engineering company who provide engineering services for the FMCG and other related sectors in Waikato, including precision machining, CNC machining, turning, fitting and fabrication. Due to increased workload, they are currently seeking Project Managers to join the team.

###The Role

This is a crucial role where you will oversee a wide range of projects from start to finish. They can vary substantially in scope and complexity. As with the other Project Managers in the business, you will work independently and manage the projects by yourself, including performing any estimation, quoting, and design work.

We are seeking someone who is confidently in producing drawings in Solidworks and Autocad. Ideally, you will come from a mechanical engineering background and be familiar with different materials, fabrication, machining techniques and quality standards.

As a Project Manager, you will need to be able to think on your feet and solve unforeseen issues. Your main goal is to complete the projects on time and on budget, while maintaining a high standard expected by the customers.

This is a medium sized businesses where you will get to know the staff on the shop floor. If you're a hands-on, all rounder who is eager to help grow and develop alongside the business, this will be a great fit.

• Experience in project management within engineering
• Previous hands-on mechanical experience is highly regarded
• Design and drafting skills in Solidworks and AutoCAD
• A qualification in mechanical engineering is advantageous
• PMP certification is ideal but not essential
• Adaptable, organised and excellent problem solving skills
• Commercial savvy and drive to develop business
