Kiwi Path Limited is a fast-paced fresh food, Grocery and spices supermarket in Hamilton. We also grow a large number of fresh produces for in- store fresh supply to our customers and for the market. We have been experiencing continuous expansion of our business and customer base over the last 8 years.

Store offers a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, Indian groceries, spices, lentils, kiwi groceries, Mediterranean groceries, dairy products, non-food items such as kitchen utensils and much more to the local Hamilton community.

About the role

We are seeking highly motivated and organized Shift Managers to oversee and coordinate the daily operations of our retail team. The Shift Manager will ensure smooth store functioning, drive sales performance, and deliver excellent customer service.

This role involves supervising retail sales workers, maintaining operational standards, and supporting management in achieving business goals. In the absence of the Store Manager the Shift Manager must be prepared to take charge of the shift during their shifts.

Job Description
  • Excellent communication and provide customer service promptly.
  • Assist the Store Manager in developing strategies and policies.
  • Assist the Store Manager with analysing expenditures, preparing budgets and setting financial targets.
  • Assist the Store Manager with product mix, pricing and analysing sales figures.
  • Assist the Store Manager with purchasing and negotiating with the suppliers.
  • Assist the Store Manager in preparing weekly roster, processing timesheets, managing staff hours and approving leave.
  • Identifying recruitment needs in the organization and assist in recruiting staff.
  • Make decisions and thrive in a fast-paced and varied environment.
  • Managing specials and promotions.
  • Handle customer queries, feedback and complaints with professionalism.
  • Effectively allocating responsibilities to employees and monitoring performance.
  • Assisting in the process of interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, dismissing, promoting staff and resolving staff grievances.
  • Contribute to the development of staff within the business so they will better handle difficult situations and complicated sales procedures.
  • Inspecting any returned goods and determining the appropriate course of action.
  • Taking inventory and maintaining optimal stock levels.
  • Ensure accurate display and pricing of items.
  • Ensure all safety processes and procedures are maintained by the appropriate parties.
  • Assisting the Store Manager with their daily tasks, if required.
  • Ensure the high standard of cleanliness, compliance.
  • Daily cash reconciliation and banking.
Qualifications
  • Level 4 or above Diploma in Business; or
  • Bachelor Degree; or
  • at least 3 years of retail work experience.
To be successful in this role, we require:
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with challenging situations
  • Clean track record with no criminal background
  • Able to work on weekends, public holidays and late nights
  • Reliable, self-motivated, honest and enthusiastic with a positive and mature attitude
  • Must have a clean full driver's licence

This is a full-time permanent role with a minimum of 32 hours guaranteed per week.
