Details of the role:

Hourly rate: $25-$35 per hour depending on skills and experience

Key duties of the role:

• Prepare and cook a wide range of traditional dim sum items, including dumplings, buns, rolls, and pastries.
• Ensure all dishes meet high standards of quality, consistency, and presentation.
• Plan and carry out mise en place for daily service and special events in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Operate and maintain traditional kitchen equipment such as steamers, woks, and ovens.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic workstation in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory control to support smooth kitchen operations.
• Support the head chef in menu development and train junior staff in dim sum techniques.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, while adhering to workplace health and safety policies.

Successful candidate needs:

• Certificate or at least three years of relevant experience working in Traditional Chinese Pastry or Cantonese Dim Sum
• A willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff
• Availability to work evenings and weekends (in line with our operating hours)
• Good physical fitness
