Heavy Diesel Mechanic
We're after an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in a purpose-built workshop in Gisborne. You'll be working on heavy equipment, hydraulics and rebuilds for forestry, agricultural, marine and industrial customers.
This is hands-on work with plenty of variety – forestry and agricultural equipment, heavy plant machinery, truck-mounted gear and custom hydraulic systems. You'll be doing builds, reconditions and repairs, with a mix of workshop and on-site work.No two days are the same.
About you
You'll need:- Strong technical and mechanical skills in heavy diesel and mobile plant
- Proven experience on heavy equipment in industrial or field-service environments
- Experience with forestry/ag machinery and hydraulics is a big plus
- A trade qualification in heavy diesel, automotive or similar (preferred)
- Good understanding of hydraulic principles, or keen to develop this further
- High standards – pride in your work and strong focus on safety
- Full NZ driver licence (HT or WTR endorsements an advantage)
- Team player with good communication skills
- Current NZ work rights (citizen, resident or valid work visa)
