Drill Rig/Crane Operator
Working In Timaru
We require Drillers (Drill Rig and Crane Operator) to join the team.
- This is a permanent role
- Full time, with minimum guaranteed 44 hours per week
- Overtime rate (1.5 time) applies to hours exceed 44 per week
- Competitive remuneration $42- $46 per hour depending on experience
About the Role
You will be based in Wellington, but may also be required to work in Canterbury, Manawatu-Wanganui, Nelson, Tasman, Marlborough, West Coast, Otago, Southland. This may require the need to travel away from home or relocate.
What you will do
The role involves work on residential commercial and industrial sites and includes (but is not limited to):
- Safely and competently operate various types of drill rigs as required
- Safely and competently operate various types of cranes as required
- Physically fit and meets health and medical criteria to undertake crane and rig operation activities as required
- Follow instructions, directions, and the daily plan to achieve construction targets
- Focuses on the Health, Safety and Wellbeing of themselves and others around them
- Ensures cranes and rigs are maintained clean and tidy, and fit for use before operating
- At least 3 years operation experience between both rig and crane
- Hold of full NZ or equivalent driver license
- Certifications for crane/rig operation. Hold or working towards appropriate class of license for machine operating. Minimum NZ requirements must be met prior to operation.
- Current Site Safe Passport
- Good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills
- A dedication to Health & Safety in the workplace and understands and practices the principles of zero harm
- Understand and implement safe operating practices
- Experience in foundations using drilling methods and crane disciplines
- Able to understand and follow multiple construction instructions and work independently
