Located in in Palmerston North, TARRAT provides a safe, secure and supportive environment where rangatahi (young people) who have offended can make changes and get their lives back on track.

We provide 24/7 support and care for up to rangatahi aged 13 to 18 years old who are involved in the Youth Justice system and we understand that the causes of offending are complex, and that successfully dealing with young offenders demands action beyond simple punitive measures.

Mō te tūnga | About the roleReporting into the Manager Residence Operations, the Supervisor Night Attendant provides unwavering, supportive supervision of our Residential Night Attendants whilst ensuring the safety and security of everyone in the residence is maintained.

Duties of the Supervisor will include; To role model a culturally responsive, well-functioning and high performing team Enabling an environment of skilled, safe and secure residential practice Assisting Night Attendants to apply best practice in relation to the Residence's legislative, policy and compliance framework i.e.

the 'non-negotiable' Contributing and supporting a positive team and site culture Completing shift reports and completing regular 'hand-overs' Identifying risks and implementing risk management actions Assisting to develop workflow plans and assisting to develop staff capabilitiesWe make a positive difference in young people's lives and get to see some of the results from our efforts firsthand

Our start times are 10:15pm
  • 6:45am, across weekdays, weekends and public holidays.

Ability to work weekends and public holidays, and work from 10:15pm to 6:45am Meet the vetting criteria for childrens workers under the Childrens Act 2014Nōu te rourou | What's in it for youThe successful applicant will begin in the role with three weeks of paid training.

Oranga Tamariki offers a step-based remuneration package, that offers progression annually for experience through tenure.
Annual remuneration for this position starts between $88,882.30 to $98,151.0 dependant on experience, including the 30% penal rates for working a rostered night shift schedule.

The 30% allowance is applied once you have completed your initial training induction and are placed onto a rotating roster that covers evenings and weekends.We offer a vibrant and supportive team, flexible work options and a genuine commitment to wellbeing.
