Structural Steel Estimator

The position requires a candidate with at least 3 years of experience in estimating, ideally within the structural steel sector. They will need a solid understanding of construction drawings, engineering specifications, and manufacturing methods, along with a high competency in excel and proficiency in industry-standard estimating software such as Strumis or similar.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

• Prepare detailed tenders/estimates and submissions
• Review contract documentation, drawings, specifications, and tender documents
• Estimate labour, plant and material requirements
• Ensuring measurements are in line with industry standards
• Developing tender documentation that is clear and detailed
• Develop reports/requirements for purchasing/local procurement
• Liaise with engineer, detailers, contract team and project managers to ensure constructability & efficiency
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
• Supporting contract administration QS team

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings and details accurately
• Proven Quantity Surveying and estimation experience within the structural steel industry
• Strong understanding of materials, labour, and time allowances for steel project
