About the Role
Your role is vital in enhancing the lives of the individuals we support. Whether you are preparing meals, maintaining clean spaces, or enjoying time outdoors, your presence helps create meaningful and positive experiences. The people you will support engage in various activities such as walking, visiting local malls, arts and crafts, or spending time with their families.Some enjoy quiet moments doing puzzles or knitting, while others thrive on music, movies, or team activities like kapa haka.
Availability on weekends is required, and shifts will include a mix of mornings and afternoons. We are seeking someone who is empathetic, eager to learn, and dedicated to supporting others in their daily routines.
About You
We are looking for individuals who naturally demonstrate kindness, empathy, and reliability. You should possess strong time management skills, work well in a team, and enjoy solving problems creatively. A good sense of humour and a passion for building genuine connections are essential for this role.The ideal candidate will share similar interests with the individuals they support, whether that includes enjoying nature, engaging in creative activities, or simply spending quality time together.
You’ll need to be comfortable following established routines while staying adaptable to changing needs. Resilience, humour, and a genuine passion for helping others achieve their goals are key.
What we are looking for- Experience in personal care, particularly with individuals who have challenging behaviours, autism, and intellectual disabilities.
- A strong understanding of positive behaviour support strategies.
- The ability to follow support plans and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- A commitment to empowering individuals to live their best lives.
