Are you looking for a diverse role within a growing business? We are looking for an experienced, proactive and motivated hands-on frontline leader for our Nightshift, with a keen eye for optimisation through continuous improvement.
This role reports through to the Operations Manager – Further Processing and will be supported closely with the frontline leadership team within the room.
About us:Ashburton Meat Processors Limited operate year-round from our premises in Bridge Street and provide humane, professional abattoir services while producing a range of meat cuts for a number of significant local and national clients. We pride ourselves on our attention to animal welfare, on-time (and to specification) supply of products, food safety and the safety of our team members.
The Role:As the Team Leader / Leading Hand you will have responsibility and accountability for the day-to-day operation of all resources in Further Processing (Boning). Accountable for ensuring that the safety, quality and productivity & customer requirements are met and reported

We don’t expect you to do this on your own though! You will be supported by our experienced operations leadership team, which will provide opportunities to increase your knowledge of operational performance along with delivering commercially acceptable outcomes.

The Person: To effectively perform in this role you must have;
- Verifiable experience within the Meat Processing industry, with relevant qualifications and/or a minimum of three (3) year’s industry experience.
- Verifiable front-line leadership experience of people/teams and communication skills (across multiple functions and all levels of an organisation).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Safety Management Systems, Quality Supporting Systems and Customer specification and requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to understand (and when required create/update) documentation in the any of the above-mentioned systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work on a variety of unconnected projects with a result focus orientation, a logical thinker, and good problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to set and follow through with expectations and commitments.
