Signwriting Assistant

Total Access Ltd is seeking a motivated Signwriting Assistant to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone starting their career in signwriting who is keen to learn design, print production, and signage preparation from concept through to installation.

About the Role

Reporting to the Sign Writer and working closely with the wider operations team, you will assist with designing, printing, and preparing signage while learning to operate and maintain tools, machinery, and apply signage at the highest level.

This role offers on-the-job training and development for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with designing signage in consultation with the Sign Writer and Workshop Manager
  • Print and prepare signage using industry leading equipment
  • Assist with removing existing graphics and preparing surfaces for new applications
  • Help with ordering materials and managing stock levels
  • Work on-site and off-site as required, including supporting other branches throughout the country
  • Assist with estimating time and materials for jobs and maintaining records
  • Learn to operate, clean, and maintain machinery and tools
Skills & Experience
  • An interest in signwriting, graphic design, or print production
  • Basic computer skills (design software experience is an advantage but not essential)
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions
  • Good attention to detail and time management
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Employment Standards
  • Ability to safely use tools and machinery (training provided)
  • Assist with applying finishes to a variety of surfaces
  • Follow clear written and verbal instructions
  • Work cooperatively within a diverse team
Special Requirements
  • Comfortable with bending, standing, climbing, and working on your feet
  • Willingness to safely handle hazardous materials
  • Commitment to professional behaviour and company standards
