Metrotest is the leading specialist in Australia and New Zealand in it's field for testing instruments and development of specific instruments and testing support systems.

We are seeking a calibration Lab Technician to fulfil the roll of calibrations and repairs in Metrotests Calibrations Repairs and Service Department. This is a rewarding career advancing position with the unique opportunity of working on some industry leading instruments.

You would be calibrating and repairing a variety of testing instruments and associated products. You would regularly be answering customer related technical enquires. You would possibly be performing training of others in the use and implementation of instruments and systems for clients.

Applicants MUST be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ) and hold a CURRENT WORK VISA which needs to be submitted with the application (if applicable).

This role is primarily based in Blenheim; however, there will be short periods where you may be expected to work further afield if required to train customers.

If you have.
  • A basic electrical qualification and have a general understanding of electronics and electrical theory.
  • Be eligible for or hold Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) registration.
  • Good computer skills and willing to learn new systems.
  • Good communication skills and can be a team player.
  • Attention to detail and interest/passion in component repairs and development.
  • A professional and courteous manner to other employees and customers
  • Excellent customer service skills with being able to interact with people to complete the job in many different situations.
  • Training experience or willing to be trained to train others in use of instruments and systems.

  • Extremely reliable and dependable.
  • Able to work unsupervised
  • Well-presented and professional when dealing with clients
  • Able to periodically work away (preferable).
  • Interested in working in a small friendly team.
