Site Manager – Fonterra Whareroa

Monday to Friday- 6am to 3pm

We are seeking a hands-on chef actively involved in the creating, cooking, and presentation of food, as well as the day-to-day running of our Café based at Fonterra Whareroa located in Hawera, Taranaki. This is a busy site with over 1000 staff as well as contractors who regularly work on site, with the Canteen feeding between 500 and 600 people per day.

• monitor quality of food
• maintain New Zealand Food Control and Safety regulations,
• maintain a clean, tidy, safe and hazard free environment,
• demonstrate great communication skills and moderate computer literacy,
• show a flexible, can-do, committed attitude.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will normally work 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 6.00am – 3.00pm and assist with ensuring the smooth running of the café.

You will represent Cater Plus on site with the majority of your role being cooking, and you work alongside the Fonterra Manager, who will manage the café staff on a day-to-day basis.

This site’s canteen service runs during the production season, approximately 10 months of the year, open from 7am to 10:30pm, 7 days per week including stat days. During the 2 months of ‘shut down’ which is during winter, the canteen operates Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm, no weekend and no stat days.
