Psychiatrist Mental Health Services for Adults - Rodney Community

Full-time or part-time available

We are looking for Consultant Psychiatrists interested in Adult Psychiatry to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary community team primarily based in the Helensville region of the Rodney District however there will be some work to be undertaken in the Red Beach office also.

Te Whatu Ora Waitemata services are based on the North and West coasts of Auckland City and serve one of the largest catchments in Aotearoa, New Zealand. Our community teams work with an ethnically diverse community, including Maori, Pacific, and Asian communities in urban and rural settings (the North Shore, Rodney District and West Auckland).

Mental Health Services for Adults provides community and inpatient services for people experiencing serious mental health issues. We provide assessment, treatment and support to:

People with severe mental disorders

People with pre-existing severe mental health disorders

Teaching and supervising psychiatry trainees, house officers, and medical students can be part of your work. We are an accredited training service and have rotating pre-examination and advanced trainees in psychiatry.

Clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team is a core function of our consultant psychiatrists' work, and the service operates a clinical governance model to ensure close involvement of clinicians in service development, service planning and quality improvement initiatives.

About you

Vocationally registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practicing Certificate or be eligible for application.

Full and clean driving licence

Willingness to Commitment to improving services and increasing positive outcomes, particularly for Maori.
