SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Housekeeper position at Ngati Awa Tourism Limited (NATL) encompasses a comprehensive range of cleaning and maintenance duties across various areas including motel unites, management offices, and other company spaces. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all assigned areas are maintained to the highest cleanliness and organisation standards as outlined in the operations manual.
The Housekeeper will be responsible for performing routine cleaning tasks, responding to customer requests, managing inventory of cleaning supplies, and completing scheduled maintenance tasks.
The primary purpose of the Housekeeper role is to uphold and enhance the cleanliness, orderliness, and overall quality of the facilities at NATL. By maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation, the Housekeeper directly contributes to guest satisfaction and the professional image of the company.This role also supports the operational efficiency of the organisation by ensuring that all areas are ready for use, thus facilitating a smooth and positive experience for both guests and staff.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Cleaning and Servicing- Perform cleaning and servicing of motel units, management offices, and other company areas to the highest standards as outlined in the Operations Manual.
- Ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with the Operations Manual.
- Diligently carry out all daily routine tasks and complete the cleaning of units by 2L00pm each day.
- Address any reasonable customer requests professionally and promptly.
- Handle customer requests with professionalism and efficiency.
- Present all lost property to reception as soon as it is discovered.
- Be knowledgeable about the contents and required quantities of each item in the units and restock consumables and equipment to agreed levels.
- Have a basic understanding of all Ngati Awa Tourism products and services.
- Complete extra and team maintenance schedules as required and in line with the Operations Manual.
- Report all repairs and maintenance needs to the Head of Housekeeping as soon as they are identified.
- Ensure linen is appropriately separated and bagged for collection by the linen contractor.
- Accurately record all require information on timesheets daily.
- Be available to undertake any additional projects or duties as requested by the General Manager.
- Desire to integrate Ngati Awa values, culture and language into work.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays.
- Basic knowledge of Te Reo Maori, Ngati Awa history, and the local Whakatane area.
- Reasonably fit and healthy and have a good level of stamina as they spend prolonged periods on their feet.
- Ability to handle complaints professionally and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Previous experience in a housekeeping or similar role is preferred but not required.
