Caregiver wanted for stroke victim
We are looking for a passionate and vibrant caregiver to help my wife for 10 hours a week, usually split into 5 hours a day. Starting wage is $28 per hour
Employee must have a full driver's license and a car, a valid first aid certificate, be able to swim, have experience caregiving, ideally with stroke victims.Police vetting and privacy declaration will need to be submitted.
Hanne, my wife, is a vibrant and creative woman. She loves gardening and drawing, and attends an art class once a week. She enjoys cooking and is a vegetarian. She has a cat who gets a lot of love. She enjoys going to the swimming pool and doing her hydrotherapy exercises.We moved to Auckland 3 years ago, and she is enjoying seeing what this city has to offer and being closer to her family. Hanne has very limited speech, a paralyzed right arm and a severe weakness in her right leg. She uses a walking stick mainly, but has a wheelchair when a lot of walking is required.
The role would include helping Hanne with meal preparation, picking her up from her art class, taking her to hydrotherapy, which includes accompanying her in the pool, home help such as light cleaning, and taking Hanne out of the house for activities, beach, museum, gallery,op shopping, gardens etc.Motivating Hanne to keep moving her body and get out of the house. The Ideal candidate would be someone with similar interests to inspire her, Someone who is motivating and has experience understanding stroke victims.
We are located in Glen Eden and ideally seek someone in the area.Days and hours are flexible. Previously, we had the rostered hours be from 10am -3pm, but we can be flexible for the right fit.
