Industrial Electrician/Controls Engineer

The successful candidate will have the skills and experience to collaborate with the mechanical designers and engineers to design and build the electrical and controls systems to produce high quality and reliable machinery. We require someone with initiative, know how, and attention to detail, that we can rely on to take full responsibility for their role in the project and be able to provide quality technical support to our customers.An industrial electrical background is a requirement Candidates must be prepared to roll up their sleeves and work on a hands-on basis when required.
Role and responsibilities:- Contributing your own ideas as well as actively listening to other’s ideas for the improvement of our products, processes and equipment
- Working with colleagues to determine, optimise, and implement the functional & safety requirements of a machine
- Designing electrical & safety systems and producing electrical schematics (Knowledge of Eplan and American or Japanese wiring regulations would be beneficial)
- Specifying & purchasing VSDs, cables, IO-cards, sensors etc., taking into account availability and negotiating price
- Writing well organised & reliable PLC code (Allen Bradley & Beckhoff and Unitronics experience valued)
- Experience in integrating other OEM devices and equipment
- Designing tidy, functional HMI screens
- Contributing to the assembly of the project and acceptance testing.
- Experience with pneumatics is an advantage
