Service Technician (Fuels sector) - Bay of Plenty

Established in 1987, Petrotec Services Ltd is a nationwide Construction, Contracting and Servicing company operating in the petroleum industry specialising in hazardous substances.Petrotec supports its customers by providing Service and preventative maintenance programs, Design and project management services, Project Construction and Mechanical Services as well as various product sales options.
THE OPPORTUNITY|
Based out of our satellite depot in Mount Maunganui and reporting to the Service Manager, this role offers a proactive and self-motivated Service Technician the opportunity to join our growing field service team.
Work and locations are varied (on-site and workshop based) and would span mechanical repairs and maintenance, and installation on all types of fuel and oil equipment plus other general work as required. The successful person in this role would be dealing with service stations, unmanned fuel sites, oil facilities and installation on new/upgrade builds amongst others.
Depending on the location of work, some wider North Island and South-Island travel could be required on occasion.
ABOUT YOU|- An enjoyment of mechanical repair work.
- Hold a clean full NZ Driver’s License.
- Experience in the field, completing all planned preventative maintenance types plus a variety of breakdown work. Experience in the petroleum and fuels industry would be advantageous, but training and regular upskilling will be provided.
- Superior fault-finding competencies with an ability to work independently and remotely with full remote support on standby.
- Holder of a current NZ Electrical Practicing License (EST) would be a bonus.
- Work in a way that actively promotes safe a working environment.
- Strong problem solving and communication skills.
- Be proactive, pragmatic, logical and always use sound judgement.
- Take pride in the appearance of yourself, your vehicle and your tools whilst enjoying customer interactions and exceeding customer expectations.
- Provide repairs and maintenance services to our partners and customers.
- Ability to work without supervision.
- Work proactively to minimise the risk of future critical breakdown issues.
- Be an effective communicator and develop strong working partnerships with our customers.
- Participate in a call-out roster.
- Always maintain and promote a high standard of Health & Safety.
