Enliven provides aged residential care to older people in the lower half of the North Island. We believe our elders should remain connected to their community and live stimulating and fulfilling lives. All our Homes embrace an elder-directed model of care called the Eden Alternative.

Enliven operates as part of Presbyterian Support Central (PSC), a not-for-profit organisation and a charity incorporated under the Charitable Trusts Act 1957. While we operate as a separate entity to the Presbyterian Church, our name, Enliven, celebrates our beginnings, heritage, and shared values, and we have been delivering a variety of community-based services for over 100 years, proudly supporting people with our extensive experience.

Mo te turanga - About the role

As a Health Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to our residents in their daily living and social requirements. You will also encourage residents to maintain their independence and make decisions for themselves. Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Deliver the highest standard of personalised care to every Resident
  • Support and encourage residents to maintain their independence and make decisions for themselves
  • Assist and support the activities of daily living in a way that meets the Eden principles and the Domains of Wellbeing
  • Take instruction and tasks from the Registered Nurse
  • Ensure resident's needs are attended to effectively and in a timely manner

Mo koe - About You

Passion for the wellbeing of older people, you will be enthusiastic but patient and well organised with great interpersonal skills. You will share our values of empathy, compassion, and respect. In addition, you will have:

  • Ability to be an active member of a team environment
  • Clear and confident communication skills - both verbal and in writing
  • Basic computer skills as we work with electronic record keeping
  • Must hold a Level 2 Health and Wellbeing Certificate or above
  • Previous experience in aged care or other healthcare assistant or support worker role
