Metal Fabricator Welder-Wellington
Metal Fabricator Welder required throughout the Wellington region!
OneStaff is looking for an experienced Metal Fabricator Welder for multiple roles! You will need to be reliable and motivated. You might be asked to work across the country to assist with our projects, so flexibility on work locations is preferred.
The normal duties to be performed comprise all activities related to marking, cutting, shaping, welding and assembling steel and other metal materials to create or repair metal structures and products including but not limited to:
Duties include:- Fabricate, install and repair metal products such as vents, handrails, boilers, aircraft and boat parts, or beams and girders for construction projects
- Preparing metal for fabrication
- Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints
- Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines
- Setting up metalwork machinery including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes and shears
- Welding metal pieces together using techniques like MIG, TIG or stick welding
- Double-checking design specifications before commencing with cutting work
- Fabricating and constructing metal components
- Grinding and finishing completed products
- Inspecting finished products for defects, ensuring all welds, joints and parts meet quality standard and making any necessary adjustments
- Adhering to health & safety protocols
- Other duties assigned by supervisor
- Minimum of 2.5 years of relevant experience or relevant qualification
- Friendly, with good time management, and excellent work ethic are essential
- Flexibility to work in various locations across the country
- A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry

Location:You may be required to work in multiple locations throughout New Zealand, including Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago and Southland.
This is a permanent and full-time role. Applicants must be a NZ Citizen/Resident or should have a valid NZ work visa.
