As we continue to grow, we are now seeking two experienced and motivated Motor Mechanics to join our team in Christchurch.
Key Responsibilities:- Diagnose, repair, and service petrol and diesel vehicles across a wide range of makes and models
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake servicing, tyre replacements, and battery checks
- Use diagnostic tools to identify faults in engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, and electrical systems
- Conduct Warrant of Fitness (WOF) inspections (if certified) or assist certified staff
- Dismantle and reassemble engines and mechanical components as needed
- Test drive vehicles to confirm repairs and ensure optimal performance
- Maintain accurate service records and job cards
- Ensure workshop safety, cleanliness, and compliance with industry standards
- Liaise with customers or service advisors to explain issues and recommended repairs
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a motor mechanic or automotive technician
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, mechanical components, and diagnostic procedures
- Proficient in operating the wheel alignment machine
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service diagrams
- Solid problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Physically fit, reliable, and able to work under pressure
- Relevant qualification or trade certificate preferred (but not essential if experience is strong)
