Little Fish co is found in the heart of the city Riverside Market, Bringing together the reliability of an enclosed, 7-day-trading shopping environment with the fresh, local, vibrancy of a market in the heart of the Christchurch CBD.Little Fish Co combines the experience & skills of those that are passionate about what they do & have done for many years to provide a fresh ocean to plate experience.
From the day boats & the fisherman that bring the daily catch to the market, to the fishmonger that skillfully dresses & presents the sea fresh produce to the inhouse chefs that passionately share their skills by respectfully cutting, cooking, smoking, curing & complementing with ingredients to ultimately offer the best fresh local seafood
Tasks & responsibilities –- Prepare and cook a variety of sushi, sashimi to the highest standards of quality and presentation
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure efficient and seamless food preparation and service
- Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Assist with menu development and implementation of new dishes
- Use their specialist skills to ensure all product is to the standard and quality required by the company and its customers
- Ensure all staff & customers are treated fairly and with courtesy
- Ensure all statutory, as well as establishment, hygiene regulations are strictly adhered
- Effectively communicate with all team members to ensure orders are processed & correct as well as processed in a timely manner & delivered to the correct customers
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Chef, ideally in a Japanese or Asian cuisine restaurant
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities to work in a fast-paced environment
- A keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality cuisine
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Qualifications in culinary arts or Japanese cuisine would be an advantage
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Ability to conduct yourself in a professional and positive manner at all time
- Confident Customer Service Skills that builds return customer relationships
