We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer for the repair and maintenance of all packhouse plant and equipment at our Hastings facility.

The packhouse operates all year round over two shifts. Dayshift operates from 6:00am till 2:30pm and Evening shift operates 3:00pm till 11:30pm. This role is predominantly evening shift with some rotation to dayshift (typically alternating 3 weeks afternoon/evening shift and 1 week dayshift).Days of operation are Monday to Friday, with Saturdays being optional.
In this role you'll be the behind-the-scenes hero ensuring our equipment operates at peak performance. You'll combine technical expertise with a hands-on approach, keeping our sophisticated processing lines running smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform comprehensive day-to-day repairs and preventative maintenance
- Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and process engineering challenges
- Collaborate with contract service providers
- Maintain equipment efficiency across day and night shifts
- Ensure optimal performance of packhouse plant and equipment
- Contribute to continuous improvement of our technical operations
- Holds a Trade Certification in Mechanical or Process Engineering
- Brings 3+ years of experience in similar maintenance roles
- Demonstrates exceptional problem-solving skills
- Possesses a "can-do" attitude and strong collaborative approach
- Excels in both independent work and team environments
- Communicates clearly and professionally in English
- Has proven experience in manufacturing or food & beverage industries
