SMASHED IT is a leading independent electronics repair provider based in Auckland, New Zealand. Since 2012, we’ve specialised in fast, reliable repairs for premium devices, including Apple MacBooks, iPhones, iPads, iMacs, Apple Watches, Microsoft Surface laptops, Google Pixel phones, Samsung Galaxy devices, and gaming consoles (Xbox and PlayStation).
We’re looking for friendly and enthusiastic Retail Sales Assistants and Repair Technicians to join our team. Both full time and part time roles are available across our Parnell and Ponsonby stores.
This is a customer-facing role, so a background in retail or sales is ideal. You’ll be helping customers, answering enquiries, explaining repair procedures, and keeping our stores running smoothly. Training will be provided for basic repairs, though previous experience is a plus.Fluency in English is essential.
This is a great role for university students or recent graduates who want to gain hands-on experience in tech, customer service, and electronics repair.
Key Responsibilities: Greet and assist customers in-store, providing friendly and knowledgeable service
Handle customer enquiries via phone and email promptly and clearlyExplain repair processes, options, and timelines to customers in a clear and friendly way
Manage stock, tools, and spare parts to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
Support technicians to keep workflows organised and efficient
Keep detailed records of repairs, problems, and solutions in our tracking system.
Technical Tasks (training provided): Assist technicians with diagnosing and repairing hardware and software issues
Perform basic repairs and maintenance on iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, and Samsung devicesInstall and set up operating systems and software
Hours & Availability: Full time and part time positions available
Work across Parnell and Ponsonby storesCurrent store hours: 10:00am – 5:30pm weekdays
Weekend availability required
Hours may vary
Skills & Experience: Previous retail, sales, or customer service experience is ideal
Some experience or interest in electronics or device repairs is a plusKnowledge of Apple and Samsung devices is helpful
Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
