About the Team/ServiceTaumarunui hospital is one of Te Whatu Ora Waikato’s rural hospitals. Our small hospital has a proud history of previously being a training hospital for nurses, for having had an Orthopaedic Surgery team that was world-famous in New Zealand for joint replacements, saving patients from having to travel to the South Island for their surgeries.

Though we have reduced our services now, we have not changed our reputation in the community. We are very supportive for our nurses, growing them into senior roles.
