About the Role As Front of Whare, you will be responsiblefor providing essential administrative support and reception services in afast-paced, 24/7 environment.

This role is pivotal in ensuring smoothoperations within the Emergency Department and delivering a welcoming andefficient experience for patients, whānau, and the wider community.Key Responsibilities:Deliver high-quality front-of-house reception servicesGreet and assist patients and whānau with empathy and professionalismManage patient data, documentation, and administrative systems accuratelyProvide timely administrative support to clinical teamsMaintain clear communication with staff and departments within the hospitalWork across a rotating roster, including afternoon, overnight, and weekend shiftsThis position requires excellent communication, strong attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm and organised under pressure.

Flexibility and a commitment to teamwork are essential, as is a genuine desire to support people in a healthcare setting.The salary band for this role is $67,943
  • $77,141 (pro-rata), depending on experience.About the Team/Service Location Our Emergency Department (ED) at Hutt Hospital is a Level 4 emergency care service, seeing around 80,000 patients each year.
We care for a wide range of presentations, from the 'walking wounded' to critical emergencies like cardiac arrests and major trauma.

The ED is particularly busy during the winter months, requiring a responsive, resilient, and compassionate team.At the heart of our mahi is patient-focused care, and our Front of Whare team plays a crucial role in ensuring every person who walks through our doors feels supported, safe, and respected.We are a vibrant and close-knit support team who consider our staff as whānau.
