Retail Assistant

Hourly rate: $25 - $34 per hour

This is a demanding, hands-on role that requires strong initiative, resilience and a positive attitude. You must be physically fit, hard-working, honest and reliable to succeed in this role.

JOB PRE-REQUISITES: Some relevant work experience is preferred.

Clean criminal record

• Opening and closing the store
• Using good listening techniques and asking appropriate questions to understand customer requirements
• Recommending suitable products based on price, delivery, warranties and care requirements
• Presenting and explaining the business’s goods and services to customers
• Selling a range of products
• Processing customer payments through various methods and preparing sales invoices
• Supporting stock management activities, including maintaining product inventories and participating in stocktakes
• Arranging and displaying merchandise on the shop floor
• Packaging goods for customers at the point of sale
• Keeping the store clean, tidy and presentable
• Registering customer complaints and assisting the manager with investigations
• Reporting hazards and incidents to the manager and recording them in the manager’s absence
• Performing other reasonable duties as required
