Senior Advisor, Analyticsat Department of the Prime Minister & Cabinet -
At its heart, this is a data analytics role, but you’ll also work closely with People and Culture, Finance, and people across DPMC to provide clear, meaningful analysis that supports our performance, planning, and strategic outcomes.You’ll combine technical skill with strong people skills, to help others understand what the data actually means and where the opportunities for improvement lie.What you’ll be doingIn this role, you’ll lead the analytics and reporting for People and Culture and the wider Corporate team, strengthening how we use data to understand our organisation and make informed decisions.
You’ll be hands-on with dashboards, workforce metrics, and performance reporting, while also helping uplift data quality and reporting processes across the board.You will: Design and deliver high-quality HR and corporate reporting and dashboards.Turn complex information into clear insights for leaders and stakeholders. Provide workforce and other data analysis for quarterly reporting, external requirements, and Chief Executive and Executive Leadership Team papers. Work closely with Finance to ensure HR and financial data is aligned, accurate and consistent.
Strengthen data quality through validation, reconciliation, and process improvements. Build strong relationships across the organisation to understand information needs and support data-driven decisions. Identify opportunities to automate, simplify, or enhance reporting and analytics tools.
What you’ll bringYou’ll be a data whizz but also be comfortable explaining it. You’re someone who can spot patterns, ask good questions, and communicate insights in a way that’s clear, practical, and tailored to the audience.You’ll also bring: Experience in analytics, reporting, or business intelligence roles.
Strong data analysis skills and the ability to turn data into meaningful insights. Advanced MS Excel skills. Experience with Power BI, and RStudio is helpful. Understanding of HR data and workforce metrics is advantageous. Strong attention to detail with great organisational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. A proactive mindset and a knack for improving processes.
