Clinical Psychologist Addictions Teamat Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Lakes -
Based in Tauranga and working across the region, this position delivers recovery focused psychological therapy for adults affected by moderate to severe substance abuse.Clinical work centres on face to face, one to one therapy, with some scope for remoted sessions across our wider catchment.
Presentations include trauma, co-existing mental health challenges, and neurodiversity. The role includes participation in assessments and treatment processes under the Substance Addiction Compulsory Assessment and Treatment Act 2017. You will contribute to the specialist SACAT team and either hold, or work towards, Approved Specialist and Responsible Clinician status under the Act.About the Team/Service/LocationThe Bay of Plenty Addiction Service is the adult secondary specialist service for addictions across the region.
The team works closely with NGO providers, adult community mental health teams, and primary care to deliver coordinated, outcome focused treatment. You practice within a recovery framework, value multidisciplinary collaboration, and contribute to service development.
