I Kitchen Restaurant in Lower Hutt, Wellington is looking for 2~3 experienced full-time Chinese Cook to join in our busy restaurant. We require a positive and ambitious person who handles responsibility with ease whilst remaining focused and in control in a fast-paced environment.
The employee is offered a normal work week of 40 hours with overtime available as and when required. Presently staff work an average of 40 to 45 per week with normal work hours is 10.00 am to 9.00 pm 7 days in shift. Employees are guaranteed payment for at least 30 hours per week.
The applicant must have 2 years relevant work experience in Chinese Cuisine.
Key Responsibilities:- Inspect and assess the quality of food ingredients before use
- Operate and monitor kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, and fryers, adjusting temperatures as required
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to recipes and established standards
- Season and adjust food during the cooking process to ensure optimal flavor
- Portion and plate dishes, including the addition of sauces, gravies, and garnishes for presentation
- Store food properly in temperature-controlled facilities to ensure freshness and safety
- Prepare meals that cater to specific dietary requirements (e.g., vegetarian, gluten-free, allergy-sensitive)
- May assist in planning menus and estimating food quantities for ordering and inventory
- May help train and supervise junior kitchen staff and apprentices to maintain kitchen standards
