Maintenance Fitter
Majority of the work is completed at the workshop in Ngaruawahia. Regular traveling will be required with essential maintenance being carried out on-site at various events across the North Island.
Skills we are looking for :Candidates with varied experience using hand and power tools, assembling and dismantling large equipment. Loading and unloading metal fixtures and parts. Some exposure to working at heights. Availability for weekend work required and expected to travel to various events and stay onsite overnight.
Business hours : Mon - Sat 7.00 am - 5.00 pm.Rostered work : At Workshop between these hours unless traveling for events, in which case hours will vary.
Key Responsibilities / Job Description :- Prepare and configure machine tools for specific jobs, and ensures correct fixtures, settings and tools are applied
- Operate lathes to create cylindrical parts
- Fit and assemble metal parts for various rides
- Uses hand tools and power tools to grind, file and polish metal parts as part of the amusement ride operation
- Perform welding, grinding, plasma cutting tasks according to project specifications
- Use MIG welding processes to fabricate parts
- Work alongside other contractors and trade professionals when required
- Find solutions to assist in continuous improvement in maintaining amusement rides and associated equipment
- Work at the Workshop as and when required
- Work independently without supervision
- Must be able to weld mild steel and aluminum.
- Experience in working with stainless would also be an advantage
- Must have NZ current car and Heavy Vehicle licence - Class 4 and above
- Must be able to communicate in English
- Strictly follow WorkSafe procedures
Applicants must have : At least 3 years of relevant experience as a maintenance Fitter and Turner in a commercial setting OR
NZ Level 4 qualification in Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (Trade) Fitting and Machining plus 1 year practical experience.
Remuneration / Hours of Work : $25.00 - $30.00 depending on experienceMinimum guaranteed hours : 30 per week; hourly rate plus holiday pay and paid sick leave. Max.hours not exceeding 60 per week
