Maintenance Engineer
About the Role
We’re seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Facilities team at Mercy Hospital.
In this role, you'll be responsible for coordinating plant & equipment maintenance, managing spares, advising on purchases, and supporting compliance at Mercy Campus.
This is a permanent role offered at 1.0 FTE or 40 hours per week role to be worked on a rotating roster; Monday - Saturday. This role will also involve participation in the maintenance on-call roster, providing after-hours support as needed to ensure the smooth operation of facilities.
Specific duties include:
- Organise, co-ordinate and carryout the maintenance activities relating to the operation of plant, installations and technical equipment on the Mercy Campus.
- Ensure the adequate supply of spare parts and materials are available.
- Advise on the purchase of furniture, equipment and capital goods.
- Assist the Facilities Manager with Maintaining the Campus’s Building Warrant of Fitness’s by completing required checks, and ensuring contracted tasks are completed.
Skills and Experience:
General Engineering, Fitter and Turner or Maintenance and Diagnostics in mechanical Engineering qualification Level 4Knowledge of building plumbing reticulation
Experience with air handling units and building management systems (Honeywell)
Experience in planning your own work and the work of others
Experience with welding / machining, mechanical engineering, pipe work & maintenance on steam plant
