You'll coordinate an interprofessional Allied Health team day-to-day while maintaining a portion of direct clinical practice within your scope
  • an opportunity to shape pathways, enable timely care, and support staff to work at the top of their scope.About the roleAs the Allied Health Clinical Coordinator for the ATR Ward, you will provide day-to-day interprofessional clinical coordination to enable patient flow and support timely, appropriate care.

Core coordination tasks include supporting referral triage, referral and caseload management, troubleshooting patient flow, representing the team in interprofessional forums, and coordinating adequate daily staffing (e.g.

leave planning).
You will also provide direct clinical care pro-rata within your professional scope in the ATR ward.

You will work closely with Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Allied Health Assistants and the wider MDT, collaborating to optimise patient pathways and care transitions.For more information on living and working in Southland click hereAbout youAs a registered Allied Health professional, you bring strong clinical foundations and the capability to coordinate day-to-day operations in a busy inpatient rehabilitation setting.You will have the following:Registration with a relevant New Zealand Allied Health professional body and a current Annual Practising CertificateA minimum of five years' clinical experience, with at least three years current and relevant to the ATR/rehabilitation coordination areaAn understanding of the roles and scopes of each Allied Health profession within inpatient rehabilitationDemonstrated ability to coordinate referrals, balance caseloads, and troubleshoot patient flow with the MDTCommitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity, including translating these obligations into everyday practiceYou will also be able to:provide clinical advice and support within scope; identify and escalate clinical risk appropriatelycommunicate clearly, represent the team effectively, and support interprofessional collaborationcontribute to orientation, teaching/learning, and quality improvement that enhances patient flow and service delivery.Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand
