About the Role
We are searching for a dynamic and suitably experienced registered nurse to take on the role of Charge Nurse Manager for Matariki. The role requires the appointee to take responsibility for the safe and effective management of resources and ensure the delivery of excellent patient services.
The salary for this position will be based on experience and in line with the NZNO agreement. Additional benefits include kiwisaver contributions (if eligible), shift allowances, professional development and wellness support.

About the Service
Matariki is a 32-bedded secondary care facility, part of the Medicine, ED and OPR Directorate of Waikato Hospital. Historically Matariki has been utilised for many purposes, today with the support of RESL GP Services, the registered nursing and allied health staff; Matariki caters for of a range of patients over the age of 18 years with differing complexities.
The purpose of continuing care in a sub-acute setting is to work with the patient and family to identify the patients' needs and goals to enable a safe transition back to home. Matariki is closely aligned with Medicine/ED/Older persons and rehabilitation services at the Waikato Hospital campus.

About you
Required skills experience you will need to be considered for this role:
- A minimum of 5 years nursing experience
- Demonstrated excellent communication and leadership skills
- Proven team building and leadership strengths
- Completed or is undertaking postgraduate study
- Previous experience working within a senior nurse role
- Focus on staff safety and wellbeing, patient safety and quality improvement
- Support staff to provide excellent clinical care, as their main priority
- Show evidence of leading change and positively influencing service culture
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
