Job description:
- Consult with clients to determine objectives, requirements, and budget of the project
- Formulate design concepts that are practical, aesthetic, and conducive to the intended purpose
- Prepare sketches, diagrams, illustrations, and plans to communicate design ideas
- Select and recommend furniture, materials, colour schemes, lighting, and other design elements
- Develop detailed drawings and documentation using CAD software and/or hand-drawn drafts
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and other professionals to ensure successful implementation of designs
- Supervise and inspect design implementation to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards
- Stay updated with current design trends, materials, and technologies
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and health and safety regulations
Job pre-requisites:
- A tertiary qualification in Architecture, Interior Design, Spatial Design, Fine Arts, or a related field is required
- At least three years of relevant work experience may substitute for the qualification
- Excellent communication, presentation and client management skills
- Strong attention to detail and a creative mind
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
