Nurse Educator, Emergency, Waitakere
- 9 FTE (72 hours per fortnight). 8-hour AM/PM shifts.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Educator, to join our team at Waitakere Emergency Department (ED).
The Nurse Educator role would entail nine shifts across the fortnight. The role will include on-floor teaching/coaching and support of staff, requiring some rostered shifts. You must have passion and enthusiasm for teaching and sharing knowledge, utilising a variety of innovative approaches.
We are seeking an expert (Level 4) emergency Registered Nurse or emergency Nurse Educator with extensive and advanced emergency nursing skills to join our dynamic ED team of health professionals. An understanding of the ED environment providing health care services for the people in our West community.We place a huge emphasis on customer service, best patient care, and positive teamwork in our ED, and expect exemplary senior nurse role-modelling within this position.
You would join an expert and motivational ED team who cover both adults and paediatrics in our ED. You would be mentored and well-supported into the role.
To be considered for this position, the following will be required:
- Registered Nurse in New Zealand with current APC
- At least 5 years ED nursing experience
- Expert Emergency RN Level 4 or Emergency (Adult) Clinical Nurse Educator
- Extensive range of ED knowledge and skills.
- Post-graduate Nursing papers (in progress)
- Contemporary Emergency Department nursing experience
- ED Adult with Paediatric experience will be a plus
- The successful applicants will be practising at a senior level and should be an excellent role model, a team-player with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, a calm and resilient individual with a can-do attitude and a passion for seeking improvement and quality. A willingness to think ‘outside the box' in providing teaching and coaching strategies.
